“Quiet Your Soul”

psalm 63It’s been a rough year for most people.  Its been an extraordinary time for the body of Christ.  I’ve spoken to many people and the people of God are getting hit on many, many sides.  People are really hurting and going through. I’m trying to do so much in this season of my life…so much.  My husband and I are often pulled on many different sides and we find ourselves exhausted…ALOT!

In addition to the many demands I’m faced with, I still have to find the time, energy and wherewithal to lose weight and get in shape.  Sometimes I’m just straight exhausted and my body is straight up achy from all of the exercise not to mention a toddler and a teenager that keeps me on my toes.  I’m not sure about you, but when I’m stressed, the last thing I want to do is go to the gym and eat salad, LOL, I’m just saying! I want some comfort food, some good ole fried chicken…smothered and candied yams with mac n cheese. Don’t get me started on the desserts, LOL! But I’m learning how to process my grief and stress differently especially now that I’m becoming aware of when and how I eat. I always need God, but In this season, I REALLY need God!!! My heart aches and hurts from the deaths and sickness that occurred this year, so in my alone time, I’ve been talking to God about my heartbreak and how desperately I need Him. Just two weeks ago, I lost a buddy of mine, makes me feel plain sick.  I’m finding I need God more and more to handle the pain of death and loss, so today, I’m finding Him on my knees.

When my heart aches, I’m learning to quite my soul and enter into His presence.  I’m a worshipper at heart and I love, absolutely love and live to tap into the  presence of God, but in my grief, my flesh fights me. It’s those times I have to press, be obedient and go into prayer to allow God to deal with me.

It’s in worship where your soul can find rest. It’s in Worship and In His Presence where I find rest, power, encouragement and healing to go on. I’ve learned how to quite my soul and let him speak to me.  How do you quite your soul? For me, I sit quite and alone, sometimes I put on some worship music and I sing and tell him how great He is.  I recall and tell God of His goodness.  I pray and declare His word. It’s different for everyone, but I force myself, even when I don’t feel like it, to wait on Him until His presence comes…And He does come…If you seek Him, you ‘ll find Him, if you search for Him with all of your heart!

It’s in the quietness of my soul is where I hear Him and He is near. I’m empowered to overcome and renewed to conquer anything in His presence. I encourage you today, find yourself a place where you can still yourself, quite your soul, open your word and let Him minister to you.  If you are struggling in your life right now, Worship Him! Press past your pain and struggles, recall of His Goodness, lift up your voice and worship.  As you worship, He will loosen your chains and give you what you need to move forward in victory.

How Are You Going Through Your Storm?

WORSHIP!

In His Name,

Ke’Shawn
