“Faithful To Your Call”

Dont give up waterfrontAs I am enjoying this holiday season, God is reminding me of this scripture:

1 Corinthians 4:1-2(NKJV)

Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.

Last week, I celebrated my 39th birthday and I WAS SUPER EXCITED JUST TO BE ALIVE! Since my birthday falls around the holiday season, as always, it was full of great food and fun.  Since last week, I’ve been surrounded by food, desserts, snacks, cake, candy, etc., which I enjoyed, but God is ministering to me about the call on my life so as I go to indulge in food, I have a lot to think about before I put anything in my mouth.

I’m a foodie…I like to eat and I’m very specific about what I want especially for my birthday.  Every year, my husband would usually order for me a specialty cake which consisted of whatever I wanted at that time. This year, we went away after my birthday and the place where we stayed was filled day and night with home baked pastries: apple caramel cake, chocolate chip walnut cookies, chocolate cookies, coconut caramel oatmeal cake, white chocolate cookies, dark chocolate covered toffee, chocolate/white chocolate biscotti, etc.  That place was dessert heaven and they also made home-made country breakfasts, so we were all eating reaaal good, LOL!

Last year, we stayed at that same place for my birthday and I WENT HAM on those desserts, LOL!  You know if you were there too, you would have pulled up a seat right next to me, LOL!  There is no way you can stay at a place like that with access to all that good food and not indulge!  But this year, I enjoyed my food and some treats, but I could feel God moving and allowing me the ability to enjoy those treats BUT WITH DISCIPLINE, POWER and MODERATION, which is really big for me. AND, I have not sleep eaten in 14 days, SUPER YAYYY and To God Be The Glory!

What’s different in my eating habits now and how I approach food? One Word: God! God has called me to lose weight.  My losing weight is no longer just exclusively about me, but about His people. For me, I no longer want to be at this place in my life…I want to be free and I want to work towards my freedom. He has a work for me to do.  He has a message for me to give to His people. How have I been overcoming sleep eating? I just refuse to do it any longer.  Once God gave me that word in Romans 7: 4-6 that my flesh has no control over me, I’ve been leaning on that.  Also, when I am awakened at night to eat, I remember the people of God and how I need to win not just for me, but for them, and I just say No!

I’ve been so grateful to God for B.O.O.M’s success.  I’ve had numerous visitors including international visitor’s to my page.  People have commented how blessed they are by the posts and my candidness. People have also commented how my posts have helped them overcome in one area or another.  I’ve had people tell me how God used me to speak a word into their lives. The feedback I’ve been getting is phenomenal and it echo’s the purpose of why God had me create B.O.O.M!: In setting myself free, I will be helping others become free too.

As scripture say’s, I AM A SERVANT FIRST…I CARRY AROUND THE MYSTERY OF THE GOSPEL TO SHARE WITH THE PEOPLE OF GOD…I AM HELD ACCOUNTABLE TO BE FAITHFUL OVER MY CALLING.

That is super big. No more excuses! It’s a sacrifice. It’s my calling. Is that pressure for me? Yes! Does that make me nervous about my own success or failure? Yes! But I know in my heart and as my spiritual mother told me, “God would not set you up to go public with your journey and have you fail, He’s setting you up to win.”

I have a lot to think about before I eat or indulge in anything contrary to God’s will: I am the Lord’s Servant, I have a charge to keep, my losing weight is bigger than me, it’s the freeing of other souls too, I need to position myself to win….That is no easy pill for me to swallow…What I do affects others. What I delay affects others….My losing weight is tied up in my purpose.  Christ is looking for me to be faithful over that mandate.  That’s serious. So before I do anything, these have been the things that have come to my mind. I will enjoy the food and festivities this holiday season, but I have to do some things differently and I still must stick to the plan God has for me and rely on the Holy Spirit for help.

This is the question Christ is asking all of us: Are You Fulfilling the Will Of Christ Over Your Life and Are You Faithful To Your Call?

As God has told me, He is telling you the same thing too: You Too Have a Charge to Keep! He Has Given You Something He’s Looking for You to Be Faithful Over! You Too Carry Around The Mysteries of Christ to Share With His People! You Too Are A Servant First! Your Deliverance Affects Someone Else’s Deliverance! Your Delay Affects Someone Else’s Deliverance! This Calling Is Bigger Than Just You And Me.

He wants us to win.  He will help us as we make the decision to do better and walk towards our purpose in Him.  Let’s put Him first in some of our decisions. His grace is sufficient, let’s choose to fulfill His will and let’s become free together.

In His Name,

Ke’Shawn Adamson
