“Don’t Let Fear Hold You In Paralysis” Part 5

the lord will fight for meI understand now that my choices and how I respond to certain situations or challenges either bring me closer to God or closer to satan and based on how I respond to either, it will either incite the help of Heaven or the help of hell. In the previous post “Don’t Let Fear Hold You In Paralysis” Part 4, God was showing me the connection of my “moment of choice” regarding fear and how I needed to CHOOSE that moment to activate my faith.

As previously stated, a “moment of choice” is that nanosecond, that small window of time where we all make choices or decisions after being confronted with somethingit’s like a split second moment where we have the ability to make decisions that either cause our spirit and heaven to win, or our soul and hell to win.  This is where the battle begins, do we listen to our soul or our spirit?.

I first learned this concept when I had to evaluate my eating habits, pitfalls and why I ended up in a vicious cycle when it came to my weight. Many times, when I strayed from my eating plan, it didn’t seem like a big deal, I thought one small indiscretion won’t kill me…but it was.

Every time I catered to my flesh, I was creating a stronghold in my mind and life, I was moving myself further away from receiving Heaven’s help, further away from health and wholeness, further away from my purpose and God’s best potential and empowering the devil to reign…all those indiscretions…one by one…over a period of time lead me to where I am today, obese. I didn’t realize it was those baby steps, those small insignificant choices that was leading me to my demise.

John Paul Jackson say’s in “Unlocking Heaven’s Power,”

“We won’t be able to to build a history of private victories without succeeding in the moment of choice. Private victories are the ‘small’ things we do because God told us to do them…the moment of choice determines where we go in life, the level of gifting we walk in, how we hear from God and how we relate to God and one another. We are either going to walk in the spirit – in wisdom, communion or conscience – or we are going to walk in the soul, relying on the human mind, will and emotions….

God is opening up my understanding to recognize my “moment of choice” regarding my eating habits and achieving goals, but now, He’s opening up my understanding of my “moment of choice” in regards to fear.

God brought this scripture to mind when I was paralyzed in fear:

Numbers 13 (NIV)

1 The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites…

27 They gave Moses this account: “We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit. 28 BUT the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large….

30 Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”

31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” 32 And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. 33 We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.”

Numbers 14 (NIV)
1 That night all the members of the community raised their voices and wept aloud. 2 All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, “If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness! 3 Why is the Lord bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword? Our wives and children will be taken as plunder. Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?” 4 And they said to each other, “We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt.”

5 Then Moses and Aaron fell facedown in front of the whole Israelite assembly gathered there. 6 Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had explored the land, tore their clothes 7 and said to the entire Israelite assembly, “The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. 8 If the Lord is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. 9 Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will devour them. Their protection is gone, but the Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them.”

10 But the whole assembly talked about stoning them. Then the glory of the Lord appeared at the tent of meeting to all the Israelites. 11 The Lord said to Moses, “How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the signs I have performed among them? 12 I will strike them down with a plague and destroy them, but I will make you into a nation greater and stronger than they.”

24 But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.

There’s a lot to learn in this scripture and a direct correlation between God causing us to conquer our fears at our current level before we see our promise-land…our hearts desire…the very things He’s been trying to give us. God is saying to all of us, “if you want my help, in your moments of challenges and trials, you have to activate your faith…there is no other way to come higher in me if you continue to fail to have faith!

Join me for “Don’t Let Fear Hold You In Paraylsis” Part 6 where we’ll examine how fear or faith and our response to it can either catapult us into that next level in Christ or derail us…it can either set the stage for future victories or cause us to go into disobedience…it all boils down to our “moment of choice” and how we’ll chose to respond to things.

Christ is telling each of US that He gave us Power to override our flesh, the cries of our soul when we’re afraid and we have the ability in our “moments of choice” to chose faith…He died to give us that right…We Have To Chose.

As always, be encouraged, stay connected, fight and Let’s Become Free Together. Don’t forget to join me for Part 6, God is not finished speaking to us about our fears. .
