“Don’t Let Fear Hold You In Paralysis” Part 4

cross with dont fearIn “Don’t Let Fear Hold You In Paralysis” Part 3, The Lord showed us three things we must do to conquer our fears, today, I will give you four and five. To overcome fear, God is saying to each of us the following:

1. Examine What Causes You To Fear or The Things That Cause You To Worry. Take an inventory and write down those things that cause you to worry and fear, those things that stress you, then, present it to the Lord. Ask yourself,

What Do I Fear Most? What Is Stressing Me Out? What Keeps Me Up At Night? What Causes Me To Panic?

2. Go Into Prayer.  Have an honest conversation with Christ about each of those fears, worries and stresses. We have to allow time to quiet ourselves and wrestle with God if need be and talk these things out with Him. I’ve gone over each of my concerns, I’ve spent time talking to God and telling Him, “I’m upset Lord over…I’m Afraid of….” I’ve even had to cry over some of those fears that I’ve been holding in that were deeply embedded in me…I’ve been praying through those things until I started to feel a sense of rest and peace over them.

3. Find Scriptures That Minister To You About Fear and How To Overcome. Along with prayer, I searched the scriptures about fear. I looked in the concordance in my bible about fear and I googled it also. I sat with my list, read those scriptures out loud and picked out scripture that ministered to me. I also put up a board in my house with a huge cross in the middle and starting tacking up each concern on that cross and I’ve been declaring the word of God over each thing.

Everyday I see that board, it gives me a visual of what I already know in my heart…THE CROSS OF JESUS HAS ALREADY GIVEN ME THE VICTORY OVER ALL THINGS…my heart can rest.

4. Make Peace With Each Of Those Fears or Worries One by One.  After having long talks with Jesus, praying over each concern, and applying scripture to each of my situations, one by one, I’ve been letting go and trusting in the sovereignty of God. At the end of the day, this is the bottom line,

DO YOU TRUST GOD? DO YOU TRUST CHRIST TO HAVE YOUR BACK AND COME TO YOUR AIDE WHEN YOU’RE IN NEED? WILL CHRIST RESCUE ME IF I’M IN TROUBLE?

These are questions you have to ask yourself.

Who Do I Truly Believe, God or the Enemy?

5. Recognize my “Moment Of Choice” when tempted to Fear AND ACTIVATE MY FAITH!

John Paul Jackson states in his book, “Unlocking Heaven’s Power,”

There’s “a constant battle wag(ing) between the spirit and the soul, and everything that happens to us is a stimulus trying to push us (in one direction) or the other…in between the stimulus and the response is a nanosecond of time that psychologist call the ‘MOMENT OF CHOICE.’ This is the space of time in which choices are made…the ‘moment of choice’ determines whether we say ‘yes’ to the spirit or ‘yes’ to the soul. Any spiritual choice we make brings us closer to God and allows Him to justifiably act on our behalf- and act often.”

If there is a specific space of time that I have to make a decision on how I respond to certain things, I have to evaluate what things make me respond in fear?

God has more to say regarding our “Moment Of Choice.”  Our “Moment of Choice” is key to helping us overcome our fears in addition to helping us overcome in many other areas in our lives.

Join me in “Don’t Let Fear Hold You In Paralysis” Part 5 where I’ll go into further detail about our “Moment Of Choice.” I never intended to do an entire series on fear, but God is saying different and based on the feedback I’ve been getting from people, everyone is wrestling with this spirit, so we have to break this thing off our lives.

We have no idea what God will do through us as we cross over from Fear to FAITH…He Has Some Promises That Awaits Us…Jesus Has Our Back!

I will leave you with these scriptures:

Hebrews 11: 33-34 (NKJV)

33 who through FAITH subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, OUT OF WEAKNESS (I AM ) MADE STRONG, I become valiant in battle, (I) turn to flight the armies of the aliens…

Exodus 14:14 NLT

The LORD himself will fight for (me .) (I will) stay calm.”

Luke 17:21

…the kingdom of God Lives within (me).

Psalm 56:3,4

(when) I am afraid, I will trust in you…

Psalm 3 (NIV)

1…(if the enemy rises up against me)you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. 4 I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain. 5 I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the Lord was watching over me. 6 I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side. 7 Arise, O Lord! Rescue me, my God! Slap all my enemies in the face! Shatter the teeth of the wicked! 8 Victory comes from you, O Lord. You bless your people.

As always, be encouraged, stay connected, fight and Let’s Become Free Together.
