“The 8th Step To Overcoming: Your Willingness To Go Through God’s Process”

open-doors-process-9-29-16Often times when I heard the word deliverance, I often thought of it as a life changing moment, a miraculous move of God where He in a dynamic, breathtaking, thunder and lightening sort of way would remove something from someone’s life that had them bound.  In my own deliverance in the past, God delivered me in that way. But I’m learning daily in my own fight for deliverance and watching others struggle, God doesn’t always send a miracle to instantly heal, deliver us or bring us into that promise land. There’s something very specific He’s looking for from us in our own fight to overcome: Our WILLINGNESS to go through His PROCESS in order to get to the other side of promise and freedom.

The truth is:

Our Deliverance at times is a Long, Arduous Process!

Deliverance isn’t always a miraculous moment, more times than not, it’s our participation with God in an act of diligence, perseverance and obedience to the Lord in a certain area of our lives over a period of time. I remember a long time ago when I struggled with an ungodly soul tie, I kept pleading with God, “Lord, deliver me from…heal me from…when your ready, take away….” I guess God became weary in hearing me praying and pleading in that manner, so in the middle of my pleading prayers, He abruptly stopped me and said, “You’re not waiting for me to deliver and heal you, I’m waiting on you.” I was floored and felt some sort of way He responded like that.

How was The Lord waiting on Me? How was I supposed to deliver and heal myself?

This is what the Lord shared with me:

  1. Resolve in your mind that you’ll seek me relentlessly regarding the issues, strongholds or bondage that’s plaguing you until you’re are set free. I had to make a commitment to seek Him daily.
  2. Pray for courage and humility to face truth. I had to be ready and willing to hear THE TRUTH from God regarding my circumstances. I had to be ready to hear God’s truth about my life, my past and present, my choices, my habits and vicious cycles that lead me to a particular place of bondage where I’d needed healing and deliverance.
  3. I had to be willing to go through a door of hurt and intense pain. THIS IS WHERE MOST PEOPLE GIVE UP FIGHTING AND TURN BACK. Truth is, we’ll either suffer from being in bondage or suffer fighting for freedom, either way, we’ll have to suffer. I had to be desperate and willing to go through whatever door He’d ask of me to receive my healing and deliverance. I had to revisit some horrible pain of my past, give up some things, leave some people behind, forgive, make peace with certain situations etc. I had to humble my soul and life to him and I had to keep doing this until he said different. We cry out for deliverance and healing, but it often never comes or is held up because of fear of revisiting pain. When I got to this part of deliverance in fighting obesity, I started to turn back too, but He encouraged me to pray for courage and He then gave it to me. The pain won’t last always, when it’s over, it births newness and freedom.
  4. I had to make changes in my choices and say No to the things that kept me bound. It’s all about crucifying your flesh. When God removes something, it’s our job to keep the enemy out and we do this by making better choices, staying connected to Christ and the Power of His Word. This is something I still have to go through daily and it’s really hard, and at times, I waiver, but I keep persisting. Its about crucifying your flesh and the more we say No, the more strength we receive to say Yes. I tell myself daily, My flesh is no longer in control, my Spirit reigns.
  5. I have to believe and have faith daily that my healing and deliverance has already come. Every time I finish sitting with Jesus, I have to have faith He took something away, something in my soul shifted and deliverance came no matter how I felt. It’s not always an exhilarating feeling, it’s faith and believing.
  6. Rinse and repeat until you know that you know your free.

This has been my process of healing and deliverance in the past from certain bondage’s and now currently, in overcoming obesity. I realize with my weight gain, the weight was an manifestation of woundedness brewing on the inside and in order for me to take my health back, I had to go through a process and a door of pain. Since I’ve done that, I’m s-o-o-o much freeer than I’ve ever been. I have vision I’ve never had. I have motivation that’s unstoppable. I’m committed like never before. I’m centered, stronger, wiser, more determined than ever before. Jesus did that as I went through the door of my process.

My process is not over. I just said to my husband I see visible signs of me losing weight, my eating is so much better, sleep eating has dwindled down and I’m exercising like a beast, but I don’t see that scale moving and it’s discouraging. He said, “Ke’, have fun with what your doing. Don’t worry about the scale, keep persisting and doing what’s right and the Lord will cause that scale to move. Don’t be weary in well doing, in due time, the Lord will lift you up.”

So I say to YOU,

Go Through Your Door. Let God Finish The Work. Let God Use You. Let God Deal With Your Pain. Let Him Turn Your Pain Into Your Purpose & Message. He’s Turning My Greatest Weakness Into My Greatest Strength & Giving Me A Platform To Speak For Him. He’ll Do It For YOU TOO! I’m Fighting For My Life. My Destiny Is At Stake, My Purpose, My Calling and My Dreams Are All Dependent Upon Me Going Through The Door Of My Process. We’ll Make It To The Other Side As We Do The Work and Persistently Believe.  We Will Never Be Defeated In Jesus.

Be Encouraged Today. Continue to join me as I share with you what the Lord is sharing with me about overcoming and achieving your dreams. As always, Be Encouraged, Stay Connected, Fight and Let’s Become Free Together.
