“The 6th Step To Overcoming: Evaluating Our Proximity To Christ”

footprints-456732_960_720In my fight to overcome obesity, grow spiritually, build a business and brand around B.O.O.M!, write, care for my family and a host of other things I’m trying to accomplish, I’m noticing one thing: the struggle and striving I’m facing now is way different than any other season in my life. In everything I’m trying to accomplish, each goal has one thing in common to ensure my success: My success is only as good as my proximity and closeness I share with Christ.

I’ve noticed that in everything I’m trying to accomplish, I’m grinding, I’m putting in the work and I’m being faithful tooth and nail. But in my fight to overcome and achieve greater, I’ve noticed that no matter how hard I try, I have weaknesses, stumbling blocks and mistakes I make that get in my way and ohhh how frustrated I become with myself. I realize that I can be faithful all day long, but if I don’t remove those things that hinder me in Christ, I’ll never get to my desired destination, hence, an unfulfilled dream and lack of purpose.

In my prayer time and devotion, I’m really coming to understand one central theme about being victorious in life and in my fight to overcome: my success is always tied to my proximity and the closeness I share with Christ. In my fight to achieve my ultimate career, my success is tied to my proximity in Christ. In my fight to achieve greater financially, my success is tied to my proximity with Christ. In my pursuit of growing spiritually, my success is directly tied to my proximity with Christ. In my pursuit of understanding and walking in the true Power and Authority of Christ, my success is tied to my proximity, my relationship, my closeness with Christ.

It’s been consistent in my studies that our closeness with Christ is directly tied to ALL of our existence, especially for those walking in spirit and in truth and desire to fulfill God’s ultimate will for their lives. It’s in reading Ephesians 1, I’m gaining true insight about the importance of our relationship with God in Christ. It was a relationship God was seeking after when he created us. It’s our relationship with Christ that causes God to smile on us, bless, save, protect and give us the kingdom. Without that vital relationship, we have NOTHING!

Before I can do anything, tear down satan’s kingdom, raise the dead, heal the sick, accomplish any spiritual or physical goal on the earth, I need to evaluate this one thing:

How close am I to Christ? Am I walking in Christ’s Righteousness? Am I walking in Spirit and in Truth? Do I have clean hands before the Lord? Do I have a clean heart? Are there some things in me that put up a wall between me and Christ?

These are the questions we have to ask if we’re going to gain Power and Authority upon the earth to do anything great spiritually and physically. Some people are accomplishing great things who don’t know Christ, but, only the things you do for Christ will last. In the days we’re living in, our possessions, earthly knowledge and accomplishments won’t shut the mouths of lions, help us escape the edge of the sword, put armies to flight and give us the ability to call on the heaven’s who’ll hearken to our voice in our times of trouble SIMPLY BECAUSE WE WALK, OBEY AND ARE CLOSE TO HIM.

I’m realizing now that our proximity, our closeness to Christ gives us access to the Kingdom, access to power and access to authority. When we’re saved, Christ gives us gifts and some power, but we need more than just gifts and some power, We need to walk in Authority that’ll cause the enemy to submit to our command in Christ as He rises up against us and our purpose.

John Paul Jackson say’s in Unlocking Heaven’s Power,

“…When we are righteous and clean in His sight, the Creator is justified in walking with us. He directs Heaven’s agents to act on our behalf, and the world responds to our presence as that happens. We are no longer intimidated by darkness–we dispel and remove darkness merely by His presence. We walk into a dark room and the room get’s brighter. People stop us in public places and ask for prayer, because they can sense we carry what they need….We are untouchable.”

Our power, authority and greatness will only come as we pursue Christ passionately and create zero distance between us and Him. He’s waiting for us to make some changes in our personal lives and for us to give up some things so that in these last days, He can be close enough with us that He can display His Power, Authority, Signs, Miracles and Wonders throughout the earth and give us the victory.

Continue to join me, Christ has more to say in our pursuit to overcome, live our dreams and walk in the fullness of Him. As always, Be Encouraged, Stay Connected, Fight and Let’s Become Free Together.
